Common questions
What tests do you prepare students for?
The math and quantitative sections of the SAT, ACT, GRE, GED, and ASVAB. We also tutor middle and high school math courses. See what each program covers.
Do you cover the entire SAT, ACT, GRE, or GED?
No. We teach the math and quantitative sections only. If you need full multi-section preparation, a general test-prep company will serve you better.
How does online instruction work?
Sessions are live, using a shared workspace to solve problems together. Each session ends with specific practice for the week ahead.
What grades do you work with?
Grades 7 through 12 for course tutoring, plus adults preparing for standardized exams. See the full course list.
Do you offer group sessions?
Yes. Groups of two to five students pay half the private rate per student for the same instruction and materials. Students should be preparing for the same exam at a similar level. See group rates.
Do you offer packages?
Multi-session packages can be arranged. Bring it up during your free consultation and we will structure something that fits your timeline.
How much does instruction cost?
Private instruction ranges from $90 to $120 per hour depending on the program, and small groups are half that per student. Every rate is published on the pricing page.
How many sessions will we need?
That depends on the starting point, the target score, and how much time remains before test day. Your free consultation will produce a realistic estimate.
Can I use AI instead of a tutor?
Often, yes. AI is a genuinely good study tool when it returns the right answer and the student is motivated enough to keep working and skeptical enough to verify what they are told. The risk is that AI states incorrect math as confidently as correct math, and a student who cannot spot the difference will learn the error. What materials do you use?
Official ones. Test preparation runs on real practice tests and published question banks from the organizations that write the exams, because nothing simulates a test better than the test itself. Coursework follows your teacher’s curriculum so sessions reinforce exactly what gets graded, supported by established resources like Khan Academy. We do not write our own worksheets — the value is not in inventing problems, it is in knowing which ones a student needs and why a particular question keeps costing points.
